Basing on the issue of clash between Bengali and Tribals at Dighinala, tribals of Nalkata area encircled an Army ptl led by Capt Himel who was escorting an emg patient. To rescue the encircled ptl of Capt Himel, another ptl led by Maj Siddik was going to the spot which was also encircled by the tribal mob at Shawnirvor bazar area. Meanwhile armed miscreants of UPDF (M) entered into the mob and started firing towards the Army ptl . Immediately, a ptl led by Lt Col Hasnat, ZC KC Z moved to rescue Maj Siddik's ptl, but tribals also encircled his ptl.Even after repeated req by ptl members, tribals cont their blockade and also UPDF miscreants fired towards the SFs. SFs' ptls initially warned them using megaphones and fired warning shots towards the sky. But the mob cont their agitation and attacked the ptls .Sensing the urgency, 2x BGB ptls also moved to the spot. As last means, SFs had to open fire to disperse the agitated tribal mob. Fol the incident, 5x tribals got shot at leg, 01 at hand and 01 at stomach. SFs evac the injured to KC hosp, but doctor declared 01 of them (wounded at stomach) dead. SFs also apprehended 07 protesters by chasing and also recovered 1x empty Mag of UPDF (M). Later, apprehended persons were handed over to police. However, today another 02 injured tribals (01 from DN and 01 from KC) who were under treatment in KC hosp died

A clash between Bengali protesters and Tribals took place at Boalkhali Bazar of DN Z under KC Region. It is known that, protest rally was org by Bengalis against the killing of Md Mamun (30) at Khagrachari Sadar on 18 Sep 24. Tribals attacked the protestors at a/m place and a clash erupted. Agitated people set fire to approx 50 shops of the Bazar (35xTribals’ shop & 15xBengalis’ shop). Approx 15-20 pers received injuries during the clash.
